Small Business & Common Law relationship breakdown London

As Partners in a relationship and Partners in Business. We decided to separate as a couple Although there were no children involved we just couldn’t seem to work together and the business began to suffer terribly Ian was able to help us put everything back into context and see a way forward.

The Mediation process also exposed just how much we had turned into “workaholics” We resolved a lot of issues together at those sessions. We now think they were the most important meetings of our lives so far Thanks Ian you were wonderful without taking sides.

Ian established that Mediation was the wrong process for our dispute and had the integrity to tell us so. The Mentoring sessions Ian provided subsequently at his Lincolnshire Office were invaluable. There was a fair bit of money involved in this dispute and I thought both sides would be writing much of it off and walking away. Well okay we did write some of it off; but a lot less than could have gone to Solicitors; and we also maintained our working arrangements, signing up for further contracts on a more realistic footing. Nice one Ian! - Thanks for shedding some light on a dark period for us!

I took on some distance learning but soon found my Partners ill-health would leave me little or no time to undertake my studies. I thought the deal covered me for a refund of most of the £5000.00 fees. The Learning Provider refused saying I had breached the Contract. Ian got the Learning Provider to consider MEDIATION they were against it at first and said no. Ian quietly approached them again and they changed their minds providing almost a full refund and the chance to take up my studies later at a discount

When the water pipe burst at our Offices I stopped paying part of the Rental until it was fixed. This went on for 9 months and the Landlord started sending demands for payment with interest. Ian got them to come to Mediation and I was able to demonstrate to the Landlord just how frustrating and costly the almost entire loss of water supply had been to my business; while the Landlord explained how hard he had been trying to get the Water Authorities to address the problem.  I think both parties benefited from the Mediation process because the stress of a mounting and costly dispute had been brought to a satisfactory outcome we agreed a solution both parties could live with without the need for attendance in Court.
